The Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at the University of New Mexico invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the broad field of Geodesy with demonstrated research expertise that complements existing departmental strengths (see eps.unm.edu). The position is a full-time, probationary appointment leading to a tenure decision. We are interested in candidates who use geodetic methods to study solid Earth, environmental, and/or planetary systems.
successful candidate will be expected to develop a competitive program of
extramurally funded research, supervise and support graduate students, and
teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels in the Earth and Planetary
Science and Environmental Science curricula. Minimum qualification is a PhD in
the Geosciences or a related discipline completed by the time of the
appointment, targeted for August 2020. Preferred qualifications include:
demonstrated publication record in peer-reviewed journals; demonstrated
commitment to establish a vigorous and externally funded research program;
evidence of research that complements existing Department strengths; and demonstrated
commitment to excellence in undergraduate- and graduate-level teaching. The Department of Earth & Planetary
