Position SummaryUniversity College announces a search for a Lecturer II, Critical Text Analysis in the Academic Communities Program beginning in the fall semester of the 2022-2023 academic year to teach courses in Critical Text Analysis. Our college serves a diverse group of students with an emphasis on supporting student’s first year transition into college.  We are seeking a motivated faculty member to engage in problem solving, curriculum design, technology implementation, and student support.  The Lecturer II will report to the Associate Dean for Curriculum and Program Development.  The initial term of this position begins August 15, 2022.

The primary duties associated with this position are:
Teach courses in Critical Text Analysis
Coordinate EdReady learning software, CTA learning management system master shell, and other CTA course materials.
Serve as team lead for UNM Reading and other CTA placement policies and tests.
Support and guide CTA faculty in curriculum design, classroom management, lesson planning, grading, and other aspects of teaching.
Lead and/or assist with CTA presentations, promotions, and meetings with campus and community partners.
Assist administration with student outreach and engagement efforts.
Assist administration with department assessment.

University College does not anticipate any primary start-up costs and office space is available. 
QualificationsMinimum Requirements:  
Master’s Degree in Education, Social Sciences, Language Arts, Humanities or other related fields.
At least 3 years’ experience teaching high school and/or college courses.

Excellence in teaching
Experience with curriculum development and implementation
Ability to assume administrative duties and to mentor part-time instructors as needed
Critical thinking & problem-solving skills
Familiarity with EdReady, ALEKS, Canvas, and Microsoft Office learning technologies
