Open Rank/Track of Family and Community Medicine - Primary Care Physician with Hospital Duties and/or Research Focused The University of New Mexico, School of Medicine, Department of Family & Community Medicine seeks qualified and dynamic Family Medicine Physicians who are interested in joining its faculty and are passionate about service, education and leadership. Candidates hired for this position will provide patient care in both the outpatient and inpatient settings and will support departmental education and scholarship efforts. Physicians interested in securing funds for research projects are also encouraged to apply. This position will include primary care clinic with a dedicated patient panel and duties supervising residents on one or more of the following hospital services: obstetrics and maternal/child health, hospital medicine, newborn nursery and/or intermediate care nursery. The educational duties will include teaching UNM medical students, physician assistant students, and UNM Family Medicine residents and fellows. Family Medicine faculty provide care on the Maternal Child Health service (a Family Medicine obstetric service), the Family Medicine Inpatient Service which provides care to adult and pediatric patients, Newborn Nursery and the Intermediate Care nursery. In this position, new faculty will provide service and supervise residents on one or two of these teaching services as part of their job duties. Areas of departmental educational expertise include social determinants of health, community health and engagement, culturally effective care, addiction medicine and point of care ultrasound.
