Position Summary

The University of New Mexico, Health Sciences Center, Department of Internal Medicine, seeks a faculty member to join the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine.  The division cares for a unique array of critically ill patients in a diverse, underserved population. As the only academic medical center for the state, opportunity exists for innovation in teaching and providing care for both rural and urban populations from diverse cultures.  We seek a clinician that will provide consultative services on the inpatient services and in the outpatient NCI designated Cancer Center.  We have a 24 bed MICU and a variety of specialized pulmonary programs and the ability to do all Interventional Pulmonary procedures in our bronchoscopy suite.

This position is for an open rank clinician educator track to join our IP program, primarily doing pulmonary consults/EBUS and ICU work at and outpatient pulmonary clinic/multidisciplinary lung cancer clinic.  Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and education.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be board certified in Internal Medicine;
  • Board certified/eligible in Pulmonary and/or Critical Care by date of hire; and
  • Board eligible in Interventional Pulmonary by date of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in academic setting
  • IP procedure experience via fellowship
  • Evidence of scholarship with peer reviewed publications/national presentations
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
