Position Summary

 

The University of New Mexico Department of Neurology seeks a board certified/board eligible Neurologist to join our Multiple Sclerosis/Neuroimmunology team.  The MS faculty will be part of a care team that manages MS, NMO, and other neuroimmune disorders in the outpatient clinic. The MS division is staffed with a full time RN, MA, PA, PharmD, Pharm tech and patient care coordinator to support patients and faculty.

We have a robust clinical trials program and are currently enrolling in several cutting-edge clinical trials for MS drugs. FTE is offered to interested faculty and we have full time study coordinator support. FTE is also available to do independent research in neuroimaging, immunology, epidemiology, genetics or other areas of interest. As an academic institution, additional FTE may be available for faculty interested in additional leadership and teaching responsibilities.

About Albuquerque, New Mexico:  Albuquerque, NM is a beautiful city with the 10,000 ft Sandia Mountains to the east and mesa desert to the west. It is ideal for outdoor activities and sports all year-round including running, hiking, biking and skiing. Albuquerque is 1 hour from Santa Fe, NM and 2.5 hours from Taos, NM, both world famous for their art and culture. We have excellent local cuisine, breathtaking sunsets, numerous cultural and historic sites, lakes, rivers, deserts and mountains.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:

  • MD Degree or equivalent
  • Board certified/board eligible in Neurology
  • Eligible for Medical licensure in the state of New Mexico
  • Completed one year of Neuroimmunology fellowship training prior to start date
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of clinical experience managing MS patients
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
