Position Summary

The UNM-Valencia Campus is seeking candidates for temporary, part-time faculty to teach 1000 and 2000 level psychology courses both online and face-to-face. This will be a recruitment beginning with the fall 2024 semester. Positions are contingent upon need each semester as determined by student enrollment levels, courses on the current course schedule, and demand driven by graduation requirements.  Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses.  Candidates who are selected for these positions will report to the Division Chair.

Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia County, The University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of The University of New Mexico which functions as a community college in the region and is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution.  With an emphasis on teaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs, technical programs, Adult Education, and Dual Credit courses to high schools in Valencia and Socorro Counties.  The faculty and staff serve a student body of approximately 2,400 students per semester. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree in Psychology.
  • One year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A doctoral degree in Psychology.
  • One year of teaching experience at a community college.
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
