Position Summary

The UNM-Valencia Campus is seeking candidates for temporary, part-time faculty to teach 1000 and 2000 level music courses. This will be a recruitment for Fall 2024 semester.

Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia County, The University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of The University of New Mexico which functions as a community college in the region and is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution.  With an emphasis on teaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs, technical programs, Adult Education, and Dual Credit courses to high schools in Valencia and Socorro Counties.  The faculty and staff serve a student body of over 2,000 students per semester.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree in Music or Music Education
  • One year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching classroom and studio music courses
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
