Position Summary

UNM’s Family Development Program (FDP) is seeking to hire an experienced Training & Development Consultant to become a member of our passionate and dynamic training team.  
The successful candidate will have the following: a strong background in Early Childhood development and family support; extensive experience in developing, facilitating, and co-facilitating interactive trainings (virtually and in-person) with a fundamental understanding of adult learning; a commitment to the collaborative process. This candidate will practice working as a partner with Early Childhood coalitions throughout NM.

Fluent speaking and writing in Spanish are a plus. 

-Provide targeted training, technical assistance and support for the local early childhood systems building coalitions.
-Passionate about working for equity and social justice while advocating for young children and their families.
-Participate in professional development to stay informed of best practices.
-Commitment to travel, occasional Saturday, and evening work.
-Strong knowledge in Windows-based systems (Zoom, Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.).

Conditions of Employment
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
Minimum Qualifications

Successful completion of at least 60 college-level credit hours; at least 4 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

-Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining supportive work relationships in a culturally sensitive manner

-Excellent communication skills and the ability to establish trust and rapport with members of diverse communities

-Ability to travel statewide

-Holds a valid NM driver’s license

-Qualified Master Trainer on the New Mexico Trainer Registry

-Ability to work successfully both independently with professional discretion and in a collaborative team environment

-Demonstrate reflective practice skills to engage in a process of continuous learning
