Special Events Worker

Position Summary

As a Special Events Worker, you will perform duties associated with the provision of customer service at athletic and/or other special events, to include ticket-taking, assisting at concessions, attending parking areas, and/or other related activities. Work will be on an on-call basis at specified events. Events to include Basketball games, Football games, Baseball, Soccer, Track, and events taking place at/on athletics fields and stadiums, etc.

  • Greet guests, scan guest tickets upon entry to the venue, answer guest questions, assist guests with locating their seats and examines tickets for entry to various seat levels around the venue during the event.
  • Resolve guest complaints or problems.
  • Examine tickets or passes to verify authenticity.
  • Provide assistance to with guests with special needs, such as helping with seat accommodations.
  • Guide guests to exits or provide other instructions or assistance in case of emergency.
  • May assist in verifying staff credentials to generally restricted areas. Assist patrons by giving directions places inside or outside the venue.
  • Additional tasks as requested by management.

  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
Minimum Qualifications

Less than high school; no previous experience required.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
