Position Summary UNM’s Facilities Management (FM) is looking to hire an IPM Tech to join our Grounds division. The qualified candidate will inspect, identify, treat, and advise on pest control operations at the UNM Albuquerque and some at branch campuses.  The use of IPM techniques is preferred at UNM relying on thorough inspections.  This candidate will also supervise subcontractors on an as needed basis.

Conditions of Employment
  • Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license is a requirement for this job.
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
  • Must obtain State of NM 3A License - Ornamental and Turf Pest Control: Insecticides and State of NM 3B License - Ornamental and Turf Pest Control: Herbicides within 6 months from date of hire.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Certification/Licensure: State of New Mexico 7A License - Structural Pest Control; State of New Mexico 7B License - Vertebrate Animal Control.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with the use of IPM techniques and strategies.
  • Insect identification expertise.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft applications including outlook, word, excel.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
