Position Summary UNM Health Sciences is seeking a .75 FTE Education and Development Manager to manage the pre-health pipeline and pathway operations of the UNM Health Sciences Center Rio Rancho Campus(HSRR). The campus consists of over 200 acres and currently hosts SRMC, The Center of Excellence for Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation, and the original “building one.” The HSRR Campus is a unique, comfortable, and welcoming space and culture. Current programs in Building One include UNM College of Nursing, an outpatient behavioral health clinic, the Pre-Health Scholars Certificate, and a unique collaboration with CNM for a Medical Assistant certification program.

The academic focus of the HSRR campus includes pipeline and pathway outreach and programming for high school, undergraduate, and post-graduate students. Current efforts include outreach to the rural, tribal and urban areas of Sandoval County. The Program Manager will work closely with HSRR leadership to manage the implementation and operations of the existing programs, as well as contribute to the development of new programming. This position will involve collaborating and building relationships with UNMHSC programs and community members.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications • Experience and comfort working with high school youth and college students interested in health careers
• Familiarity with the processes involved in applying to academic health programs
• Experience and ability to manage pre-health programs
• Knowledge of health careers and the pathways to the careers
• Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities
• Experience building collaborations for the purpose of developing and implementing programs
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience and skills in mentoring
• Ability to successfully work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge in data collection and analysis of program effectiveness
• Assist leadership in developing creative new programs to meet community and workforce needs
• Experience and ability to draft grant applications and manage grant programs including reporting requirements
