The Department of Pediatrics at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center is recruiting a rehabilitation psychologist, rehabilitation neuropsychologist, or experienced clinical psychologist with an interest in pediatrics. The position provides an exciting opportunity to join the team at UNMH Carrie Tingley. UNMH is the only academic medical center and the only Level 1 Trauma Center in the state, which houses the only pediatric rehabilitation program in New Mexico. The faculty position will be through the Department of Pediatrics with a secondary appointment in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences/Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. UNM comes under the scope of various loan repayment and loan forgiveness application opportunities for eligible providers. Application to these programs is required under each agency’s application process, criteria, deadlines, and approval processes. New Mexico’s great natural beauty and rich cultures have earned the designation “Land of Enchantment.”The position responsibilities include:Clinical - psychological and cognitive assessments, direct interventions with patients and families and consultation as part of an inpatient rehabilitation team. The inpatient pediatric program provides services to pediatric patients who have experienced brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, amputation, complex medical conditions, and post-acute illness. This program also has a strong emphasis on providing services in an outpatient pediatric setting. There is an opportunity to develop an outpatient practice in an area of interest, with a need for experience in cognitive rehabilitation, chronic health conditions, trauma, and pain
