Position Summary |
Position Summary The Accelerating Resilience Innovations in Drylands (ARID) Institute is actively hiring a Program Assistant to support the Middle Rio Grande Endangered Species Collaborative Program (MRGESCP). The MRGESCP is a multi-party collaborative comprised of federal, state, local government agencies; Pueblos; municipal water utilities; an irrigation district; and environmental non-governmental organizations. UNM-ARID provides programmatic, administrative, and scientific support to the MRGESCP in order to fulfill its role of being a collaborative space for the signatory partners to collaborate and coordinate scientific and management activities related to the listed species of the Middle Rio Grande (MRG) and their habitat, the riparian Bosque ecosystem. The MRGESCP Program Assistant will support the Program Manager in implementing MRGESCP activities and initiatives as recommended by the MRGESCP governing body, the Executive Committee (EC). Duties and Responsibilities - Provides administrative support in the development, implementation, and marketing of the MRGESCP.
- Serves as a central point of contact for the PST for MRGESCP participants on day-to-day programmatic, operational, and administrative matters.
- Assists with scheduling, coordinating, and hosting seminars, meetings, workshops, and other MRGESCP-sponsored events.
- Coordinates distribution of meeting materials; takes minutes during MRGESCP meetings.
- Coordinates activities of support staff, consultants, faculty, and/or volunteers engaged in implementation and administration of MRGESCP activities and events.
- Writes, edits, and coordinates development of MRGESCP newsletters, brochures, annual reports, and other MRGESCP educational and outreach materials.
- Maintains MRGESCP records.
- Researches and synthesizes information; prepares briefings for other PST staff or MRGESCP participants.
- Performs or delegates clerical and administrative support tasks, including creation, typing, and editing of MRGESCP correspondence, purchasing documents, and reports.
- Represents the MRGESCP and UNM-ARID at public outreach events and external meetings.
- Writes, edits, and coordinates development of MRGESCP documents and deliverables.
- May facilitate MRGESCP ad hoc groups.
- May perform specialized activities of a programmatic nature in direct support of the accomplishment of program objectives and protocol.
- May supervise student employees, volunteers and/or interns.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment |
- If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.

Minimum Qualifications |
High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
