The UNM Early Childhood Services Center (ECSC), is seeking for a full-time Spanish/English translator/interpreter. Under general supervision, the interested individual will translate documents and other material from Spanish to English; and/or translates spoken passages from one language to another during seminars, symposia, teleconferences, and/or meetings. Expresses either approximate or exact translation, depending upon the nature of the occasion.
This position will collaborate closely with ECSC’s Professional Development Team and the Instruction Development Team to identify the needs for both face-to-face and online trainings. It will involve engaging in discussions with Subject Matter Experts to consider which videos, articles, games, or songs may need updating for the Spanish version of the trainings. Additionally, there will be opportunities to discuss concepts and content for both online and face-to-face trainings.

Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
In simultaneous interpreting, renders oral translation of material at time it is being spoken.
