Working Title Director of Engineering
Position Grade 15
Position Summary

Under limited supervision, directs and manages technology system functions in a broadcast television engineering environment, related directly to on-air broadcast operations and signal transmission. Manages television engineering operations, including broadcast and satellite transmission; acquisition and maintenance of broadcast equipment; and contract negotiations.

  • Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license is a requirement for this job.
  • Must maintain certification status.
Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED; at least 10 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Certification/Licensure: Certification with the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) or equivalent.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive Engineering Experience in engineering roles, with a strong background in PBS/NMPBS software development, systems engineering, or similar areas.
  • At least 5 years in a managerial role, with experience leading teams of engineers.
  • Strong understanding of current engineering tools, technologies, and best practices.
  • Understanding of relevant regulations and compliance standards with the FCC and PBS industry
