The Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering (CCEE) is seeking a full time Senior Engineering Lab Coordinator to join our diverse and dynamic team. Oversees and coordinates the day-to-day operations of engineering laboratories. Provides guidance, technical oversight and support to faculty and staff engaged in engineering research, design, and implementation. Assists in development of laboratory setups. Provides formal lab safety instructions to students in direct support of academic programs.
The CCEE Senior Lab Coordinator will provide technical and logistic support for civil engineering teaching and research laboratories. Laboratories to manage include the following labs in Centennial Engineering Building: 1. Dana Wood Materials and Structures Lab 2. Geomechanics and Geotechnical Lab 3. Asphalt labs 4. Hydraulics lab
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Implement and maintain UNM safety and environmental regulations. 2. Maintain safe, clean, and organized laboratories. 3. Provide technical expertise on safety and use of equipment to students. 4. Maintain supplies and equipment inventories. 5. Order supplies and equipment for laboratory. 6. Oversee maintenance of lab equipment and instruments. 7. Assist in the design and implementation of laboratory experiments. 8. Supervise student personnel working in the laboratories as needed. 9. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as needed.

Bachelor's degree in a directly related field; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred qualifications:
· Knowledge of safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, etc.)
· Knowledge of chemical, hazardous waste, and/or environmental health standards
· Knowledge of laboratory environment, requirements, and standards
· Ability to read, understand, follow, and instruct on safety procedures
· Ability to communicate effectively
· Ability to work with students, staff, and faculty
· Ability to implement standard protocols for maintenance of laboratory equipment
· Ability to organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments
