The Department of Speech & Hearing Sciences at the University of New Mexico is conducting a search for an Assistant Professor. This is a 9-month, tenure-track appointment, with a preferred start date of August 1, 2025. Responsibilities include conducting a research program consistent with the candidate’s area of expertise, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, mentoring students, and performing service duties. This is a probationary appointment leading to a tenure decision. UNM is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Albuquerque is an eclectic, medium-sized city that enjoys many of the advantages of urban life and is full of cultural richness and creativity. It provides a low cost of living in a beautiful desert and mountain biome. UNM holds a “Highest Research Activity” Carnegie Classification, includes a research and teaching hospital, and is a Hispanic-Serving Institution. The department has a collegial relationship with a wide array of community-based organizations including schools, hospitals and rehab centers. Senior faculty within the department provide mentoring to maximize research success.
