UNM’s Utility Services is currently seeking a sharp, enthusiastic professional to join our Utilities team as a Utilities Maintenance Mechanic (Pre-Cert)! This is a fantastic opportunity to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on utility plant equipment and systems, promoting the safe and efficient operation of high-pressure steam boilers, refrigeration units, potable water systems, electricity production systems, and associated equipment. What You’ll Do: - Hands-On Repairs: Work directly under certified mechanics to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on various utility systems.
- Diagnose and Fix: Examine machinery to identify malfunctions and complete necessary repairs, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
- Participate in Installations: Assist in the installation and repair of piping and fittings for oil, gas, water, and steam systems, learning from experienced professionals.
- Keep It Clean: Maintain a tidy work environment by cleaning plant facilities and equipment as required.
- Follow Safety Protocols: Adhere to established safety and environmental policies, promoting a culture of safety in the workplace.
- Flexible Shifts: Be prepared to work occasional 16-hour shifts as scheduled or otherwise required.
