The University of New Mexico Health and Health Sciences Information Technology (HHSIT) department is seeking a seasoned professional with advanced knowledge in unrestricted accounting to join our dynamic administrative operations team. As an Accountant 3, you’ll manage the department’s daily financial operations and serve as the go-to expert on budget, procurement, fund, and expenditure matters. You’ll have the unique opportunity to shape departmental policy and standardize financial processes while navigating the complexities of our IT procurement and licensing subscriptions.In addition to engaging with budget and financial strategy sessions, this role offers substantial growth opportunities. This hybrid position allows for flexibility, with work-from-home and office options available.Duties and Responsibilities:1) Reconciliations: Preparation of monthly budget reconciliations and reporting for IT indices, telecom, and renewal dates (licenses, maintenance & support).2) Purchasing: Oversight of spend on index budgets, approve Chrome River reports, lead for department purchasing and guidance (LoboMart & PCard). Resolution of AP/vendor reconciliation issues, and journal vouchers as needed.3) Budget: Prepare annual budget (Budget Planner & Salary Planner), bi-annual budget review documents, and 5-yr budget projections, etc.4) Internal invoices/reimbursements: Prepare invoices to departments for systems & applications support, component cost sharing, and pass-through expenses. 5) HR/Payroll: Approve salaries for budget purposes completing the internal Recruitment form. Approve payroll, backup Timekeeper, process EPAF and labor redistributions. 6) Various: Submit Facilities Management service requests for facility related issues, submit telecom requests for various issues, maintain office supplies for all staff. Update Internal Service Rate document & LMS database rates, assist with UNMH salary agreements, and update Cost Share documents.

Bachelor's degree and successful completion of at least 15 credit hours of university-level accounting through intermediate accounting; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
