We are seeking a highly productive individual to join the research laboratory of Dr. Olga Ponomarova. Our team works on uncovering functional connections between central metabolism and organismal physiology. The ideal candidate will work on a research project, as well as assist with day-to-day laboratory operations. The Research Laboratory Technician 2 will work with microorganisms and nematodes (C. elegans) under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator. Applicants that have experience in microbiology or invertebrate biology are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities: Conduct experiments following established protocols Optimize new experimental procedures Accurately record and analyze data Assist with day-to-day laboratory operations, troubleshoot problems, maintain equipment and supplies, maintain a safe and clean laboratory environment Train new lab members Assist with other research tasks

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
- Strong work ethics and exceptional reliability- A degree in biology, biochemistry or similar- Interest in research (metabolic pathways)- Experience with bacteria culture, PCR, cloning, biochemical assays- Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and equipment- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
