The University of New Mexico is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Supervisor of Utilities Instrumentation & Controls to lead our control systems and metering operations. What You'll Do: 

  • Lead and Inspire: Supervise a talented team, guiding their development through hiring, training, and performance evaluations. 

  • Innovate and Coordinate: Oversee the design and planning of advanced metering systems and control mechanisms that power our university. 

  • Ensure Excellence: Conduct quality assurance inspections to uphold our institutional standards and ensure compliance with all regulations. 

  • Manage Resources: Organize and maintain an inventory of tools and test equipment, ensuring everything is in top shape for peak performance. 

  • Collaborate and Supervise: Work with contractors to schedule maintenance and repairs, ensuring timely and efficient operations. 

  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility while promoting cutting-edge maintenance management systems.

  • You are skilled in designing, installing, and maintaining various control systems, with strong knowledge of inventory control and maintenance principles. 

  • You communicate effectively, can analyze technical operations, and are able to work in elevated locations.

Conditions of Employment
  • Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license is a requirement for this job.
  • Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
  • Must maintain certification status.
  • Must have Basic First Aid and Adult CPR/AED Certificates or obtain within 3 months of date of hire.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Certification/Licensure State of New Mexico CID Electrical specialty (ES3J) Journeyman's License; Technical certification in Instrumentation and/or Controls Systems or related field.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
