The National Science Foundation awarded the School of Engineering a Center for Engineering Equity. This is a mutlifaceted institutional change project that seeks to innovate processes and practices in the School of Engineering across diverse areas including student success, faculty development, and partnership enhancement with K-12 and Community Colleges. The newly funded center requires professional operations expertise to help stand up the center and keep the work on track as specified in the list of responsibilities below. Annual expenditures will initially be approximately $600k per year, with the potential for a four-year extension to "phase two" after the first two years. We will be pursuing synergistic funding that could grow the center's scope. Funds for a 1.0 FTE program manager were included in the proposal budget, and this position will be fully funded on this external grant. Principal duties include: ● Manage and oversee the administrative and daily operations of the Center for Engineering Equity, including organizational planning, hiring processes, activities coordination, and guidance to staff and/or students, and ensuring compliance with university, state, and federal policies and regulations.
● Develop and implement systems and processes to establish and maintain records to document the center's activities and performance toward stated goals and metrics.
● Provide professional coordination and leadership in the execution of day-to-day center activities, as appropriate to project objectives. Strengthen relationships among the team and the stakeholder community to promote collaboration and advance the center's goals.
● Oversee and/or coordinate the collection, compilation, and analysis of program activity data; develops, writes, and presents comprehensive statistical and narrative program reports.
● Assist in producing, developing, and disseminating internal and outward-facing communications for the center, including websites, presentations, social media products, briefs, reports, and correspondence.
● Manage contract, grant, and/or state funding; approve and monitor budget expenditures; prepare budget revisions; provide interim status reports on all accounts; oversee, coordinate, and/or assist with proposal writing to develop additional funding. ● Participate in decision-making with the center's leadership team
