The University of New Mexico’s (UNM) Office for Academic Personnel (OAP) is seeking a customer-focused, forward-thinking HR Analyst to support Main and Branch Campus faculty, staff, administration and leadership regarding implementation of and compliance with University policies, procedures and guidelines and collective bargaining agreements. OAP is the Human Resource
office for approximately two thousand faculty and three thousand graduate
assistantship holders. OAP is responsible for the detailed review and HRIS data entry for approximately 2,000 faculty transactions annually. These transactions include compensation changes, special administrative components, appointment changes, etc. OAP is also responsible for hiring over 100 faculty annually and 3,000 graduate assistants annually. OAP receives approximately 2/3rds of all hires and transactions between May and August. This is a customer service focused position requiring good communication skills and the ability to problem solve. You will work with Schools and Colleges to assist in addressing questions about faculty job records and provide advice on UNM best practices for maintaining job records. Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following: · Serves as the initial contact and liaison for intake and assessment for routine HR issues. · Handles routine labor relations and human resource inquiries related to policies, procedures, and bargaining agreements; refers complex matters to appropriate management staff. · Reviews faculty employment transactions for Reviews and verifies incoming and outgoing documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established policies and procedures. · Oversees and processing faculty hiring actions via UNMJobs. Provides support regarding hiring policy, processes and guidelines to applicants and departmental users. · Maintains and audits records related to personnel files, labor agreements, and HR processes. · Prepares documents and records required for review of complex HR issues, contract negotiations, and meetings. · Conducts research related to human resource policies, employee relation activities, and labor negotiations. · Maintains knowledge and understanding of collective bargaining agreements, labor relations, employee relations and human resources practices.
