The Developmental Care Program, Department of Pediatrics, Neonatology Division, is seeking an on-call social worker. The interdisciplinary Developmental Care team (occupational, physical, speech, family and infant massage therapists, early childhood educator, family liaisons) is an integral component of the Neonatology Division. The Division and Program serve infants and families in a 51 bed regional NICU, including transitions to home and statewide follow-up. This individual provides relationship-based, comprehensive support services for families of premature and/or critically ill infants as part of an interdisciplinary team. This position is responsible for providing, overseeing, and/or administering a wide range of psychosocial evaluation/assessments, counseling therapy, crisis intervention, and case management services in a high-intensity clinical environment which requires a high degree of independent decision-making. Lead and train lower level social workers, students, and/or interns engaged in related therapeutic/patient care activities, as appropriate to the individual position. Knowledge of community resources including resources for meeting basic needs, housing, and mental health services as well as collaborating with other hospital departments and outside organizations is required.

Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or directly related field; at least 6 months of directly related experience which may include internship and/or practicum. Certification/Licensure NM licensure as LPCC, LPC, LMHC, LMSW, LCSW, or equivalent level, OR licensed out of state and eligible for NM licensure.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
