The Office for Community Health at the University of New Mexico’s Health Sciences Center is currently hiring a Program Manager to join a dynamic team of peer healthcare workers, including Social Workers and Community Health Workers.
Under indirect supervision and in collaboration with program director, oversees fiscal, operational, administrative, and of the program(s). Works closely with social workers, public health workers, other community health workers, professional students, and social services agencies to staff operations in order to provide short term care coordination and connection to resources that support program clients to improve their health and general well-being. This position will engage with at-risk populations with complex psycho-social histories using trauma informed and harm reduction practices. Assists Director in seeking and developing outside funding sources and shares responsibility of the appropriate use of programmatic funds within the parameters of the contract(s)/grant(s), up to approximately $1.5 million per fiscal year. Serves as point of representation and liaison with external constituencies on the local and state level on operational matters, and provides day-to-day technical/professional guidance and leadership as appropriate. This is a term position tied to the contract/grant funding period. After June 30, 2025 the position will shift to focus more on Community Health Worker Led Programs in the Office for Community Health.

High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified; two of which are management level experience.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
