Join the University of New Mexico Facilities Maintenance Department as a Facilities Services Tech and become an essential part of maintaining our campus facilities infrastructure. As a Facilities Services Tech, you will take on a wide range of non-technical maintenance responsibilities in supporting Tradesmen on Preventive and Corrective work across various building systems, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for everyone in our facilities. Key Responsibilities: - Electrical Systems: Perform standard repairs to building electrical facilities, such as fixtures, switches, outlets, and photo cells. Assists licensed electricians with non-technical repairs as appropriate.
- Heating & Cooling Systems: Monitor and maintain HVAC systems, including cleaning fan coil units and adjusting system controls to ensure optimal performance. Assists licensed HVAC technicians with non-technical repairs as appropriate.
- Plumbing: Handle non-technical plumbing tasks such as repairing leaking fixtures, cleaning obstructed waste lines, installing water coolers, and assisting with other plumbing needs. Assists licensed plumbers with non-technical repairs as appropriate.
- Carpentry & Painting: Perform routine carpentry tasks, including sheetrock installation, window replacement, cabinet repairs, and painting interior and exterior finishes.
- General Maintenance: Assist with trash removal, snow removal, kitchen equipment repairs, and other maintenance duties as needed.
- Documentation: Keep accurate records of maintenance tasks, repairs, and any issues encountered during work.
- Safety First: Follow established safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment while performing all tasks.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Ability to monitor, maintain, and perform standard repairs to building electrical facilities and systems, such as tubes, fixtures, switches, photo cells, and outlets; assists licensed electricians with non-technical repairs as appropriate.
- Ability to monitor performance of heating, ventilation, and cooling systems for the facility; perform standard repair/replacement of components, as appropriate, and non-technical maintenance tasks such as cleaning of heating and cooling fan coil units and adjustment of system controls.
- Ability to monitor and perform non-technical maintenance of plumbing systems, to include standard repair of leaking fixtures, cleaning obstructed waste lines, installing water coolers, and/or performing non-technical modifications to plumbing and water supply systems; ability to assist licensed plumbers, as appropriate.
- Ability to perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
