The Department of Pathology is seeking an experienced, self-motivated, collaborative individual with excellent computer and communication skills. Pathology plays a vital role in the clinical care of UNMH patients as it is the science of the cause and effects of diseases.
Working in conjunction with other departmental and ancillary staff, the selected individual will help support faculty, trainees, and staff with their clinical, research, and educational needs. Job duties will consist of but are not limited to assisting the Executive Assistant to the Chair and Department Administrator with scheduling, document preparation, meeting note taking, and special projects in addition to other duties.
The ideal candidate is efficient, detailed-oriented and skilled in developing and maintaining customer relationships. In collaboration with talented, hardworking, and caring coworkers to find the best solutions to challenging issues in a fast-paced environment, is expected.
Office hours are Monday – Friday, 8am to 5pm with no weekends scheduled, there may be occasional overtime, or a flexible schedule may be required to meet deadlines/coordinate special events. Periodic travel to department offices (University of New Mexico Hospital and TriCore Reference Laboratories) to provide coverage, as needed, is required. A hybrid schedule combining on-site and telecommuting may be available once training is complete.

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
