The University of New Mexico’s (UNM) Campus Capital and Space Planning (CCSP) department seeks a Capital Plan Manager to join our vibrant, committed team of professionals. UNM CCSP manages the capital plan and capital outlay process in close coordination with University leadership. This is a continuous annual process that prioritizes and manages capital outlay requests, appropriations, and approvals for University projects including new construction, renovation, acquisition, demolition, repairs, and campus improvements. The Capital Planning team works with the Capital Investment Planning Committee (CIPC) to create and maintain the 5-Year Capital Plan for Albuquerque campuses. The Committee is co-chaired by the Director of Campus Capital & Space Planning and Assistant Vice President of Academic Resource Management. The Capital Plan Manager will play a key role on this committee. The Capital Plan Manager will: Coordinate all aspects of capital planning and management to include overseeing the University's annual capital improvement priorities. Provide strategic guidance and oversight in the development, coordination, and implementation of capital plans. Lead request and approval process for campus-wide capital projects. Duties and Responsibilities: - In collaboration with senior leadership, ensure planning and presentation of capital renewal needs coordinate with the institution's broader capital agenda and legislative presentation strategy.
- Serve as the University's liaison and representative for capital planning, capital appropriations, capital project approvals, and presentations to governing boards and agencies.
- Establish programs to manage the University's capital portfolio. Develop, oversee, and present the institution's priorities for integration into the annual and multi-year capital plans.
- Represent the University in capital projects and plans with internal units that share campus capital project and planning responsibilities. Work in partnership with leadership across all UNM campuses to coordinate the capital projects and planning of campus environments and facilities.
- Develop intra-departmental processes to ensure that facility renewal and modernization needs are integrated into annual capital and multi-year plans. Establish and manages strategic plans and processes related to capital project and planning processes.
- Coordinate approvals for all UNM capital projects and planning expenditures, provides required documentation, and serves a liaison with internal and external approval boards.
- Work closely with University project managers, financial officers, Budget Office, and Government Relations throughout the capital projects appropriations process.
- May supervise and/or lead lower graded staff and/or student employees.
- Recommend and participate in the development of University policies and procedures; may serve on University planning and policy-making committees.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
