The University of New Mexico (UNM), Office of the University Controller, also known as Financial Services, located on Main Campus, is responsible for all central accounting functions for the University. It is the responsibility of the Controller's Office to ensure compliance with all financial policies, rules, and regulations adopted by the University or imposed by external agencies, including state and federal audit requirements, following generally accepted accounting practices. Additionally, the Organization oversees the maintenance of the official financial records of the University. Within Financial Services, is Chemical, Research, Laboratory Supplier (CRLS) which is seeking a Supply/Stock Clerk to become part of the team. Located on Main Campus in Clark Hall, CRLS provides essential laboratory supplies and services to UNM researchers, supporting their work across Main, North, and South campuses, as well as other off-campus entities. The supply center carries a wide range of chemicals, gases, and lab supplies for research and scientific needs. CRLS is seeking a reliable and experienced Supply/Stock Clerk to safely handle and deliver containers that hold chemicals, pressurized gases, cryogenic liquids, and lab supplies. This role requires a strong commitment to safety practices, particularly in the safe handling of hazardous materials, and a thorough understanding of Safety Data Sheets (SDS). The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service and communication skills, as the position involves direct interaction with researchers and staff across all campuses. Key Responsibilities: ~Safely handle, store, and deliver containers containing chemicals, pressurized gases, cryogenic liquids, and lab supplies ~Follow safety guidelines and ensure compliance with safety protocols ~Operate a UNM vehicle for delivery tasks ~Perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, and pulling items weighing over 50lbs ~Work in tight spaces and manage the physical demands of the position ~Interact frequently with researchers and staff to support their supply and delivery needs ~Maintain an organized and safe work environment This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in handling specialized lab supplies and chemicals.
