Position Summary

The UNM-Valencia Campus is seeking an Administrative Assistant 3 for the Adult Education Next Steps Program. This program is a grant-funded position with current funding available through 06/30/2025.  This is an on-call position at .25 FTE.

This individual will be the contact for departmental data support, coordinating the departmental data functions and inquiries, maintaining a variety of files and records, reconciling fiscal administration for the unit, including, but not limited to budgets, funding, grants, contracts, employment, travel, and/or purchasing for the department. The individual will maintain inventories for department assets and product inventories associated with internal services. The individual will prepare reports and presentations and maintain databases for statistical reporting to national, state, and local entities.

Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia County, The University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of The University of New Mexico which functions as a community college in the region and is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution.  With an emphasis on teaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs, technical programs, Adult Education, and Dual Credit courses to high schools in Valencia and Socorro Counties.  The faculty and staff serve a student body of over 2,000 students per semester.

Conditions of Employment
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • More than five years' experience with data analysis
  • More than five years' demonstrated experience in/with working in a financial environment in purchasing, budgets, expenditures, and knowledge of basic bookkeeping principles and practices
  • Demonstrated experience in Adobe Suite and graphic software
  • Demonstrated experience with MS Office Suite, especially Excel
