The Center for Development and Disability (CDD), established in 1990, is New Mexico's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service. These centers, authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, build the capacities of states and communities to respond to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. The Senior Program Therapist will directly support the Senior Counselor/Social Worker for the ECCS and Director of the UNM CDD's Early Childhood Clinical Services Unit by coordinating the referral, triage, scheduling, and evaluation follow-up processes for the CDD's statewide Early Childhood Evaluation Program (ECEP). This individual will participate in ongoing triage of newly referred cases, including coordination with early intervention providers and management of required records and materials needed for case management, intake, and evaluation appointments in service of ECEP. This individual will also be the primary contact for families and FIT providers waiting for evaluations, and will oversee scheduling of families as appropriate. This position will coordinate administrative and waitlist management duties, requiring extensive attention to detail and strong organizational skills. The individual will also provide training and consultation to early intervention providers, and to families following their evaluations. They will provide coordination of ECEP referrals, intakes, triage, case assignment and scheduling of families. This position may also provide direct clinical care and case management support for patients birth to age five and their families, including implementing evidence-based assessment and treatment models as appropriate. The ideal candidate will have training and experience in early childhood development, experience working in early intervention or early childhood education, and may have experience with or knowledge of evidence-based treatment practices in early childhood mental health. They will possess familiarity with NM Early Childhood systems, including the NM Family Infant Toddler system, and will demonstrate excellent organizational, collaboration, and communication skills. The position requires some local travel for community meetings, and potentially for visits to clients or families' homes.
