The Office for Academic Personnel (OAP) is seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our growing team as a Data Manager. The Data Manager will manage, maintain, and provide reporting from the HR/PR system (Banner), Smart Sheets, and other systems. The successful candidate will have a passion for data accuracy and consistency, be detail-oriented, an effective communicator with the ability to engage diverse constituencies both verbally and in writing, and possess strong troubleshooting and data analysis skills.
As the central service center for Main and Branch Campuses, OAP provides essential information to administrators and faculty to help them navigate the policies and procedures that govern their rights and responsibilities as UNM employees. The Office oversees the processing of all personnel matters relevant to Main and Branch campus faculty, ensuring compliance with University policies and procedures, as well as State and Federal laws and regulations. OAP also participates in long-range planning and policy-making by implementing academic personnel procedures and guidelines and provides training and support on academic personnel matters.
Specific Duties Include:
Perform data analysis and create reports for OAP and Academic Affairs
Complete salary progress reports for Main and Branch campus faculty
Run weekly, monthly, and annual reports for OAP and Office for Academic Personnel Labor Relations (OAPLR)
Create and maintain ad-hoc reports for the OAP operations team, OAPLR, and Senior Vice Provost (SVP), as needed
Troubleshoot application and portal issues as they arise
Participate in system upgrades and configuration
Train and assist system users in reading and interpreting report data
Maintain and create Smart Sheets for various human resources needs
Archive previous years’ data
Maintain accurate documentation of data processes and procedures
Analyze redundancy in reporting systems across departments and recommend efficiencies

High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Advanced experience using MS Office, particularly Excel to building and using pivot tables, Word and PowerPointExperience working with SmartSheetsExperience working with UNM systems such as: HR Reports, Ellucian Banner, Workflow or similar systemsAbility to work independently and as a team memberAble to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and expectationsAbility to effectively communicate, verbally and in writingExperience as a member and/or lead on projectsComfortable working in a fast paced and variable environmentUnderstanding of business processes and how data supports those processes
