The UNM Department of Pediatrics is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and organized individual to join their Office of Research team as a Program Specialist. The selected individual will oversee the coordination of NIH- and industry-sponsored pediatric chronic kidney disease studies, as well as various administrative and regulatory support activities related to Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) funded “NOWS-NM Training Initiative: Optimizing Care for Neonates at Risk for Opiate Withdrawal Syndrome” project.
Study coordination duties under the UNM Department of Pediatric Nephrology include study recruitment and screening, conducting study visits and study procedures per protocol requirements, preparing and submitting IRB records, attend sponsor mandated meetings and act as a liaison between PI, Sponsor and both local and central IRBs.
SAMHSA Grant duties include scheduling, conducting and documenting mandatory project meetings with both the internal study team and the project sites, responsible for assisting team with tracking project deliverables and timelines, preparing reports to funders and preparing and submitting and maintaining IRB records.

High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
