As a nationally accredited program with a strong educational component in The University of New Mexico School of Medicine, the Office of the Medical Investigator (OMI) investigates any death occurring across the state of New Mexico that is sudden, violent, untimely, unexpected or where a person is found dead and the cause of death is unknown. The OMI, which is a special program within the Department of Pathology, determines the cause and manner of death in these cases, and provides formal death certification.
OMI is currently seeking an Inventory Supply Coordinator in the Operations Department. This position will monitor and maintain inventory levels for the department and process and track purchase orders which will require strong knowledge of equipment and supply usages. This individual will create and maintain accurate documentation for all items in stock and track status as items are disbursed and returned to include inspecting inventory condition for distribution and recycling purposes.
Our ideal candidate will have inventory management experience and database maintenance skills. In addition, strong communication skills and independent judgement in problem resolution are essential to the support of operational efficiency. Due to the sensitive nature of the service we provide, the work may involve moderate exposure to extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and loud noises. The physical component of this position requires moderate activity and handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing/walking more than four (4) hours per day.
