Position Summary

The University of New Mexico Student Health & Counseling (SHAC) is recruiting for a knowledgeable, detail-oriented ON-CALL Pharmacist to work in the SHAC Pharmacy.

This position provides pharmacy services to patients/medical practitioners. Receives, compounds, fills prescriptions, dispenses pharmaceuticals, consults with clients regarding the nature and use of drugs, and trains and/or supervises personnel. Performs routine quality control testing procedures; prepares and maintains all necessary records required by federal, state and local regulations.

The Student Health & Counseling Center is located at the center of campus. The clinic provides comprehensive primary, and mental health services and has a laboratory, x-ray, pharmacy, physical therapy, massage, acupuncture, case management, and health promotions on site. Other medical services provided are same day appointments, travel medicine, immunizations, and sports medicine.

Conditions of Employment
  • May require discipline-specific licensure and/or professional certification, as specified by the department in the preferences.

  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D.; at least 6 months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Certification/Licensure State of New Mexico Licensed Pharmacist.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications Retail Pharmacy experience is preferred.
