The University of New Mexico’s Facilities Management is seeking a dedicated Locksmith Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our Lock Shop. In this critical role, you’ll manage both mechanical and electronic access systems, support new construction and modernization projects, and ensure the safety and security of our diverse campus community.
Key Responsibilities: As the Locksmith Supervisor, you will: Supervise a team of locksmiths, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management. Develop and maintain a campus-wide pin and keyway hierarchy to support long-term security and system expandability. Translate evolving campus security policies into updated master keying strategies. Advise senior leadership on access control strategies and security enhancements. Maintain vendor relationships and service contracts for access control systems and equipment. Review construction plans to ensure proper access control specifications are included. Ensure staff are trained in state-of-the-art access technologies used in renovations and new builds. Serve as a technical liaison for campus security policy development. Manage scheduling, payroll, and supply ordering for the Lock Shop. Maintain and update key and electronic access databases. Promote safety, quality assurance, and continuous improvement in all operations. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Please Note: This position is subject to overtime and on-call assignments, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to support campus operations.

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
