The University of New Mexico is seeking a dedicated Locksmith, Pre-Certified to join our Facilities Management team. In this essential role, you’ll help maintain the safety and accessibility of our campus by installing, repairing, and managing locks and access systems across a wide range of facilities. Key Responsibilities: As the Locksmith, Pre-Certified, you will: Install, maintain, and repair mechanical and electronic locks, hydraulic closing fixtures, and related hardware. Cut new or duplicate keys, stamp and maintain master key files, and track key distribution to ensure safety and security. Add and modify electronic facilities access for the University community and contractors. Maintain inventory of supplies and parts, and log work performed and materials used. Assist with or perform the repair and programming of electronic access control systems. Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies, promoting continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental practices. Maintain and repair ADA door operators, door closers, and control gates as needed. Provide estimates and order materials, parts, tools, and equipment for work assignments. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Please Note: This position requires you to work in the Health Sciences Center (HSC) area of UNM. This means you will be working in medical laboratory research, medical clinical, and medical academic spaces. These HSC environments may require the donning of medically approved personal protective equipment (PPE). Additionally, this position is subject to overtime and on-call assignments, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to support campus operations. Why Join Us?
