Minimum Qualifications: · B.A. or B.S. in Signed Language Interpreting, Education, Deaf Education or a closely related field. · National certification in ASL/English interpreting as evidenced through the submitted CV Preferred Qualifications: · Experience teaching ASL/English interpreting courses, including theory and skills courses, and/or American Sign Language courses as evidenced through the submitted CV, cover letter and/or letters of recommendation. · Teaching or practical experience with Trilingual or Indigenous interpreting as evidenced through the submitted CV, cover letter and/or letters of recommendation. · Teaching or practical experience with tactile or Protactile interpreting as evidenced through the submitted CV, cover letter and/or letters of recommendation. · Documented experience supervising interpreters and/or student interpreters as evidenced through the submitted CV, cover letter and/or letters of recommendation. · Experience or training with Learning Management System(s) (Canvas, Blackboard, etc.), and multimedia course design, as evidenced through the teaching statement. · Bicultural; ability to interact comfortably in deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing communities as evidenced through the letters of recommendation. · Ability to work effectively with students and colleagues as evidenced through the letters of recommendation. · A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities as evidenced through the submitted CV and/or letters of recommendation. |
