The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering seeks a highly motivated and energetic professional to serve as an Academic Coordinator. This position is responsible for a wide-variety of administrative support tasks and activities in a research-active academic department. The individual in this position will work closely with the Department Administrator and Accountant 3 to ensure the smooth functioning of the day-to-day operational, fiscal, academic, and administrative responsibilities within the department.
This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to create, compose, and edit written materials. This individual will perform the hiring of student employees, manage departmental resources, equipment, and supplies, perform payroll for monthly and bi-weekly employees, perform various fiscal-related tasks such as deposits, transfers, purchasing/travel, and reimbursements. Candidate will also submit department work order tickets, assist with course scheduling, and create and submit graduate student contracts. Individual chosen will serve as the primary point of administrative contact for internal and external constituencies. They will perform and/or participate in the coordination and completion of special projects, meetings, and/or events, as well as supervise and train student employees as appropriate.

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
