Position Summary

The Division of Physical Therapy at the Health Sciences Center School of Medicine Campus has a temporary part time faculty position available to assist the instructor in teaching Human Anatomy 1 and 2.  These courses will involve dissection and study of the human body.  Lecture material will highlight the nervous system; osteology of the upper and lower extremities, and spinal column; the vascular system and the muscular system of the body; the physiology of the cavities (cardiac, pleural and peritoneal); and a beginning of neuro anatomy through the dissection and study of the head and neck.

These courses are taught to first year students from MWF from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., 10/13/2025 - 3/6/2026. The salary for this assignment will be $11,840.   

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5 or more years’ experience as a physical therapist;
  • The ability to physically dissect human tissue.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Evidence of continuing education in courses requiring the utilization of anatomy
  • Prior lab assistance in gross anatomy
  • Advanced degree or other additional education and clinical experience
  • A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities
