Facilities Services Manager

Position SummaryManages physical plant and maintenance operations for the Harwood Museum of Art which includes the museum, auditorium, administrative area and Alcalde buildings.  Active participation in and oversight of building operations such as maintenance, custodial, safety, security, construction and grounds maintenance.  Schedules and oversees activities of contractors, vendors and suppliers.  Monitors maintenance budgets and expenditures to control costs.  Monitors contracts for compliance and adherence to specifications as well as does regular inspections of all equipment and also checks that the Harwood is meeting industry standards in all areas.  Responsible for updating information and inventory in the department and keeping all the documentation as well as all communication in an organized and retrievable fashion.  Supervises staff in department which is inclusive of hiring, firing, training, work assignments, performance evaluations, and problem resolution.

Conditions of Employment
  • Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license is a requirement for this job.
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

Certification/Licensure HVAC-related Journeyman's license OR Journeyman Electrician's License OR New Mexico CID Low Pressure Boiler License.

Occasional considerable physical activity including lifting, pushing or pulling of objects up to 50 pounds also climbing/working from ladders up to 36 feet. 

Additional RequirementsSkilled in the use of computers and related software applications. Official transcripts, High school diploma, or GED certificate will be required for hire. Please see minimum qualifications for specifics. This position will require a pre-employment criminal background check. Future and/or continued employment in the position is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining a satisfactory background check, which is one that does not include any disqualifying findings.
