Position Summary

The duties and responsibilities for the Customer Service Associate / Retail position at the Harwood Museum will be greeting museum guests, answering phones, selling Museum store merchandise, taking admission fees, and providing information to museum patrons.  In addition the position of Customer Service Associate / Retail, under direct supervision, will process event ticket sales for Public Programs, balance out and close the cash register at the end of a shift, as well as assist in closing of the museum and general security of the building and collection.

This position has a limited number of hours per year and is not benefit eligible.

This position is not represented by a labor union due to the reduced FTE.

  • This position is represented by a labor union and is subject to the terms and conditions of the CWA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 6 months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with:

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Retail and customer service in a museum or gallery gift shop
  • Point of sales ticketing
Additional RequirementsPosition requires flexibility to work lunches, evenings, weekends and/or holidays as necessary. Official transcripts, High School diploma or GED certificates will be required for hire. Please see minimum qualifications for specifics.
