Trauma Consultant

Position Summary

Under indirect supervision, delivers a wide range of grief and trauma support to families following a traumatic death including provision of crisis, individual and family, advocacy/case management, referrals, and psychoeducation for victims of crime.  Develops, facilitates, and mentors groups related to traumatic death, as directed. Designs and delivers education programs and presentations in grief theory and intervention associated with traumatic death, complicated grief, and OMI Operations.

Participates as part of a team in planning and overseeing Grief Services program initiatives, program development and administration, research activities, data gathering, staff wellness, and student supervision. May work in one or more of a variety of settings including home and office visits, organizations, schools, etc.  Travels regularly in and around Albuquerque and throughout the state to deliver grief support to bereaved families.

Conditions of Employment
  • May be required to submit to annual TB and rubella screening.

  • Discipline-specific licensure/certification is a requirement for positions in this classification.
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, or directly related behavioral health field; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
