Position Summary If you are seeking full time employment at the University of New Mexico, this is your opportunity to work with a dynamic team of faculty and staff dedicated to the design disciplines.

The School of Architecture and Planning is seeking applicants with strong interest in supporting academic units.
Primarily, the Administrative Assistant 3 will serve as Search Coordinator and process hiring through UNMJobs or Banner for faculty, initiate graduate student contracts and process nonstandard payments to faculty.  The Administrative Assistant 3 will report to the Academic Operations Officer and will provide administrative support to Associate Deans as needed.

The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of faculty hiring policies and procedures and an ability to problem solve and manage multiple tasks. The Administrative Assistant 3 will work a regular 40 hour week during UNM’s business hours.

The School of Architecture and Planning is housed in George Pearl Hall located on UNM’s main campus. This unique facility was designed by internationally known architect, Antoine Predock.

Conditions of Employment
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

 

1.        Knowledge of faculty hiring policies and procedures at UNM or other institution of higher education or community college;

2.       Demonstration of professional demeanor, problem solving skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks;

3.       Proficiency on computer including MS Office Suite, Zoom, Teams, UNMJobs and Banner;

4.       Demonstration of excellent written and verbal communication skills;

5.       Experience working in an academic unit at UNM or other institution of higher education or community college;

6.       Experience initiating graduate student contracts.
