Position Summary

The Division of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Preventive Medicine, within the Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking an Administrative Assistant II to provide administrative support for the Southwest Node of the National Institute of Drug Abuse Clinical Trials Network, a statistical and data coordinating center and several multi-year studies.

The individual hired will perform a variety of tasks, including scheduling meetings, events, and interviews, processing routine financial documents, prepare journal vouchers, purchasing requisitions, take and distribute meeting minutes, help gather and present information to the teams, help with formatting documents and compiling manuals.

This position will work closely with the Principal Investigator of these projects and the research managers, and coordinators.

Conditions of Employment
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with providing administrative support
  • Experience with working with UNM purchasing systems
  • Knowledge of UNM accounting policies and procedures
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with UNM systems such as Chrome River, Click, and IRB
