The Department of Native American Studies (NAS) is seeking a motivated, self-directed, and experienced Coordinator, Student and Graduate Services. To be successful in this position, you must be organized, detail oriented, and able to perform a variety of student and program support duties for the department.
Duties will include, but not limited to: Provide guidance and advisement services to our undergraduate and graduate students who attend in-person and through our Accelerated Online Program. Manage graduate admissions (in collaboration with our Graduate Student Director). Maintain student files and manage student data base. Assist in the processing and submission of undergraduate degree and OGS forms. Ensure students meet requirements for graduation (exams, programs of studies, and committees…). Attend monthly OGS Net meetings. Undergraduate and Graduate program recruitment and admissions: Work with the department admissions committee and manage applications to the Ph.D. program each year. Provide degree program information to potential students. Coordinate the scholarship program application and review process. Assist with NAS program events, such as coordinate the new graduate student orientation (August), the department convocation, and collaborate with faculty on other program events. Maintain degree programs documents and statistical data and report data as needed: Data on current students, graduates, recruitment brochures, and admissions data. Report data for accreditation and committees as needed and keep admissions data current. Responsible for the department catalog and curriculum published annually on the UNM Catalog. Assist with building the schedule of classes. Develop and present workshops, lectures, and student orientations The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and customer service skills, strong computer skills, previous experience with degree programs at UNM, OGS and related UNM Forms, and data base management and running reports.

High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
