The Center for Micro-Engineered Materials (CMEM) at the University of New Mexico (UNM) is seeking a highly motivated and energetic professional accountant. CMEM is a university wide collaboration bringing world class capabilities in micro and nano science and engineering.
The qualified candidate will be responsible for managing restricted and unrestricted funds, including monitoring and monthly reconciliation of indexes, preparing, and updating monthly financial statements and projection reports, and processing financial transactions such as labor redistributions, journal vouchers, and requisitions. The Accountant I is responsible for the timely review and approval of department transactions such as P-Card reconciliations, reimbursements, and requisitions, understanding and answering questions regarding allowable purchasing and reimbursements, and reviewing Chrome River reports and P-Card statements to ensure compliance.

Bachelor's degree and successful completion of at least 9 credit hours of university-level accounting through intermediate accounting; no previous experience required.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
