The Pediatric Immunology and Infectious Diseases Division is looking for a pediatric RN Case Manager to provide patient care. This position includes clinical care and coordination of pediatric patients with complex immunologic and infectious diseases as well as children with asthma and allergies.
The nurse will be involved in the coordination of appointments for multidisciplinary care, clinic coordination, i.e. preparation of patient information for regular provider meetings, attendance to pediatric care clinics, discussion of laboratory results and plans of care with families, monitoring and triaging of patient calls, inpatient and outpatient patient/family education, preparation of letters of necessity, obtaining prior authorizations for such needs as medications, specialty laboratory evaluation, etc., and calling pharmacies for patient prescription refills. The nurse will also perform such tasks as skin-prick testing, oral food challenges, etc. The nurse may also participate in research protocols, with roles to potentially include pediatric blood draws, obtaining consents for study, etc. The nurse will have frequent interaction with the physicians who comprise the division.

Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related clinical field; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Certification/Licensure State of New Mexico Licensed Registered Nurse or licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the multistate privilege to practice compact with New Mexico.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
