UNM’s Honors College (HC) provides challenging opportunities for highly motivated, talented, and creative undergraduates in any major or college. Our college enriches undergraduate learning through small seminars in an interdisciplinary, skills-based curriculum. By providing advisement services that positively impact retention, admission, graduation, and educational success. HC’s Academic Advisor is an integral part of HC’s efforts to develop more academically versatile, intellectually agile, and collaboratively inclined undergraduates within HC and across the university.
Along with other responsibilities described in the link to additional information below, the successful candidate for this position will have the following primary responsibilities: To provide consultation, guidance, and advisement to HC undergraduates regarding their academic plans and strategies. To function as subject-matter expert on honors advisement matters and connect students to resources and services across UNM and advising teams in other colleges/schools. To maintain, process, and update a variety of records and documents related to students’ Honors admission, academic progress, and goals.Knowledge of the curriculum and administrative requirements for attaining undergraduate degrees and credentials in higher education.Strong organizational skills; ability to work within tight deadlines. Bachelor's degree; at least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
