|Working Title||Accountant 2|
We are seeking an organized and driven Accountant II to join the Student Financial Aid Team at UNM. The accountant in this position will work closely with department management and accounting interns on day to day processes. We are seeking an experienced individual who is capable of revitalizing our Funds Management processes. This position will be responsible for monitoring and reconciling various accounts within the Student Financial Aid Office. The selected individual will also be responsible for matching, archiving, and balancing various deposits and fund transfers from state and institutional agencies. The person selected for this position will provide funding for student awards based on monies received via EFT, paper deposits, and/or departmental award forms. It will require working with other University departments to fix errors, research funding issues, and reconcile accounts. The selected individual will be responsible for developing spreadsheets to quantify and illustrate routine financial reports as well as monitoring and communicating accounting information, budgeting, and adhering to public and private auditing standards.

|Conditions of Employment|
Bachelor's degree and successful completion of at least 12 credit hours of university-level accounting through intermediate accounting; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Experience working with the UNM accounting system and federal and state agencies.
Experience monitoring and reconciling high volume accounts
Experience with databases
Experience with budgeting
